Ghanaian Gospel Musician Turned ‘HIV Drug Dealer’, Brother Sammy Granted Bail

Ghanaian gospel musician, Brother Sammy has been granted bail after he was apprehended by the Police.

He was arrested for advertising an unlicensed product that he claimed is capable of curing sexually transmitted diseases.

Commander for the Suame Divisional Police Command in the Ashanti Region, ACP Owusu Boampong, who confirmed his bail to Kumasi FM’s Elisha Adarkwah said, they are looking forward to arresting another suspect who aided the gospel musician.

He stated that both suspects will be officially charged and arraigned before the court of law–after the arrest of the one who is on the run.

Following his arrest, the Food and Drugs Authority cautioned the public not to patronize unregistered/approved products.

“The FDA wishes to inform the general public that it has not registered any product for the cure of HIV/AIDS neither has any approval been given to the said Artiste for the production and sale of any FDA regulated product”, a statement signed by the Chief Executive Officer of FDA, Delese A.A.Darko read.
