Popular
Ghanaian Gospel artiste, Piesie Esther has stated that not all gospel musicians
are from God.
She
indicated that mentioning the name of God in a song does not make someone a true
gospel musician—but their deeds.
“Not all
gospel musicians are from God. Mentioning the name of God in a song does not
make someone a true gospel singer…you will know such people by their deeds,”
she said in a recent interview with Mr Lattus on Akonoba FM’s Entertainment
Court program which was monitored by www.newshuntermag.com in Sunyani.
“There are
some people who have been called by God…others feel they have the talent so
they can do it and others well trained from the genesis of their lives and know
the power of God that they use to work,” Piesie explained.
Commenting
on where she derives her strength from, the ‘Osoree Mu Tumi’ composer posited:
“I understand God’s calling and I have allowed him to control whatever I do. I
do not sing for singing sake but I pray to God to strengthen me so that others
can change, those who have lost hope will have it back and bless them.”
Piesie
believes the Almighty God has listened to her prayers and that’s some of the
reasons why he is still active in the Ghanaian music scene and making an impact
in people’s lives through song ministration.
