DESAG Marks May Day With Sports In Sunyani

The Bono, Bono East, and the Ahafo region of the Distance Education Students Association of Ghana (DESAG) of the College of Distance Education, University of Cape Coast- UCC has marked the May Day celebrations in a grand style with an inter-center sporting events.

The event which took place at the Sunyani Senior High School Park saw students from their various centers participate keenly in the various sporting disciplines which included Volleyball, football, oware, ludo, dame among others.

Addressing students from nine centers by the Regional Resident Tutor, Mr Isaac Christopher Ottoo, who graced the occasion charged students to take an active part in DESAG’s activities since the association belongs to them and that the University has allocated scholarship funds for students who do well in their disciplines.

He urged the few students who were privileged to be part of this year’s event to be ambassadors for the association at their various centers.

The president of the association for the three regions, Yaro Dickson also praised the entire student body and the executives who worked together to make the event successful.
He reiterated the fact that students were not there in their numbers looking at the entire students’ population due to the dispersed nature of the study centers, but He and other executives are doing everything possible to get the majority of the students involved in future DESAG’S activities though costly.

A section of students from Dormaa, Drobo, Hwediem, Kintampo, Nkoransa, Techiman, Seikwa, and the two study centers in Sunyani who spoke to obbamediagh expressed their joy through socializing with their colleagues from other centers and looked on to more of such programs in the future.
