MTN Ghana Supports Techiman Traditional Council Ahead Of 2019 Apo) Festival



Telecommunication giant, MTN Ghana have pledged their support to the Techiman Traditional Council ahead of the 2019 Apo) Festival Celebration.

On Thursday, March 14, 2019, MTN Ghana Executives led by Mr Charles Osei Akoto, Commercial Manager for Northern Sector of the company made a donation of Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (Ghs 5,000), Schnapps and assorted drinks in hamper and airtime worth Five Hundred Ghana Cedis (Ghs 500).

Mr Osei Akoto stressed that the Telecommunication Company deems it necessary and appropriate to support the Traditional Authorities because festival brings unity and development. 

He stated that MTN Ghana has embarked on a lot of development projects nationwide—and a lot will follow through the MTN Ghana Foundation.

Mr Akoto urged Ghanaians to be concerned about nation development.

Gyaasehene of Techiman Traditional Council, Nana Korsah Kore Topia II who received the donation on behalf of the Omanhene of Techiman Traditional Area, Oseadeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV, appreciated the efforts of MTN Ghana.

He stated that consistently MTN Ghana has been helpful whenever the Traditional authorities prepare to celebrate the Apo) Festival.

Nana Korsah also called on MTN Ghana to leave an indelible mark within the area by building a hospital or a school block at some of the remote areas—as they have done in other places outside the Techiman Traditional Area.

Activities for this year’s Apo) Festival started on the 2nd of March and will be climaxed on March 31, 2019—of which the grand durbar is scheduled to take place on Friday, March 22, 2019, in Techiman.

The 2019 edition of the festival is themed:  “Celebrating 15 Years of Kingship: Managing Tradition and Modernity in the Major Cross Road of Commerce and Diverse Cultures in Peace and Development.”
