Renowned movie producer, Mr Martin Aboagye, has taken a massive swipe at veteran music producer Edward Nana Poku Osei, also known in the music circles as Hammer.

Hammer over the past few weeks was spotted selling bread on the streets in order to promote his bread making business which created a huge backlash in the showbiz circles.

In an interview with on Zylofon Media, Mr Aboagye indicated that some of the people the celebrities who have a lot of influence are not leading up to the task to ensure they gauge their followers to achieve the best in their lives.

When further quizzed by the host, Sammy Flex, he indicated that for Hammer, Bandex and Co. to stand on the street to sell bread is giving credence to the fact street hawking is appropriate.

He indicated that as celebrities, we have followers and people who are looking up to us and for them to be doing that, we are encouraging all those people to engage in such precarious occupation.

Some of the panel members disagreed with his assertion during the discussion but most of the listeners who phoned into the show–threw their support for the renowned movie producer.

Mr Aboagye recalled countless experiences of hawkers been killed either by motorbikes or trucks in street vending practices.

He said: “Of course, in our part of the world, we need to survive but we don’t need to survive at the perils of our lives.”

Mr Aboagye indicated that he is not against celebrities and influential people engaging in business but we have to ensure that whatever we are doing does not add more woes to our problems.
