Our Doors Are Always Open For Partnerships – MUSIGA

The Vice President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bessa Simons, has said the union is ready to collaborate with any individual or organization seeking to partner with them.

He stated that they will make sure that the partnership will be beneficial to musicians in the country before reaching an agreement.

“We are ready to partner with any individual/group that is ready to do something that will benefit musicians. We are there for them. We do partner with a lot of people. All we do is just to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU),” he told Moses Aluebasi (DJ Alligator) on Storm FM’s Entertainment Extra in Sunyani.

Bessa Simons indicated that it is wrong for any organization or individual to use the emblem of the union with their consent.

According to him, strengthening the regional offices of the union still remains a top priority for them
“Strengthening our regional offices is part of our top priorities.  We thrive more on the dues that our members pay. Before the end of this year, and early part of next year, we will be touring all the regions,” he assured.

The MUSIGA Vice President added: “Most of these offices are unable to generate revenues, so it is something that we will take a critical look at. The National office will also disburse some funds to them. We want our members to benefit beyond their dues. We want our offices to be known to the region. It would good if they have their own calendar.”

“Very soon our conference will be held…and we have made some changes in our constitution,” he hinted.
