Nana Opoku Kwarteng, Father of the late music sensation, Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, popularly known and called Ebony Reigns, has disclosed that by the latter’s intelligence, he wanted her to further her education and become a great lawyer.
“I saw a great lawyer in her because she was such an intelligent young girl, with great prospects,” Nana told Melvina Frimpong Manso, when she hosted him live on Suncity Radio’s Showbiz 971, over the weekend.
Giving a background to Ebony’s career, Nana Kwarteng recalled that in a discussion on her future, she insisted going into music instead of he wanting her to go to school, and train as a lawyer.
“Dad, I am 18years now, Please just give me 2years to do music and after that, I’ll return to school, to do your law for you,” the late artiste was said to have convinced a loving father with a gesture of pointing two of her left fingers at him.
“Because I treat her as my queen (Nana Hemaa) I had to give in to her request and the result was what the whole wide world saw of her,” Nana followed up.
He used the platform to advise parents not to stifle their children, but encourage them to speak their minds and hearts out.
“We need not only always speak to them, we should hear them as well,” he said.
