Dormaa West District Hospital Appeals For An Ambulance

The Administrator of the Dormaa West District hospital, Ofori Agyei, has appealed for an ambulance to enable the hospital to carry out its operations effectively.

He said the health facility situated on the Dormaa Ahenkro – Sefwi high way, receive cases regularly, but they rely on public transport to send patients who had been referred to other hospitals.

Mr Adjei said the location of the hospital on the Dormaa Ahenkro – Sefwi – Côte d’Ivoire road and the fact that it is the only hospital in the new Dormaa west district makes the appeal very important for consideration.

He appealed to the Ghana health service, cooperate bodies, individuals to provide the necessary logistics to help develop the hospital.

Another major challenge confronting the hospital is lack of mortuary. According to him, the facility has no mortuary to keep dead bodies…and people travel all the way to Dormaa Ahenkro to preserve the mortal remains of their loved ones.

Touching on achievements, the Administrator mentioned that the management of the hospital established public health unit, E and T unit and eye clinic amidst. He disclosed that bed capacity had been increased from 13 to 40.

He said the Nkrankwanta community had awarded a contract for the construction of mini male and female ward facility to help ease congestion at the hospital.

Mr Ofori Agyei has, therefore, appealed to the government, benevolent individuals, philanthropists and donors to come to their aid in order to get an ambulance, wards, mortuary, and necessary logistics.
