Brong Ahafo Team, Two Officials Banned

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
Premiership side, Berekum Chelsea, in the Brong Ahafo Region have been slapped three home match ban by the Disciplinary Committee (DC) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
This followed an assault by its supporters on Referee Kofi Nuhu Liman, after their 1-1 drawn League game against Dreams FC at the Berekum Golden City Park, a couple of weeks ago.
A Breaking news intercepted by Suncity Radio Sports, Wednesday afternoon, indicated that Bechem United Coach, Bismark Kobi Mensah has also been handed a three-match ban; while Brong Ahafo based Referee Bernard Domfeh, also received a two-match ban for his poor handling of the Eleven Wonders – Hearts of Oak League match at the Nana Ameyaw Park, at Techiman.
Pundits on the programme were of the view that the GFA should make disciplinary actions reformatory, instead of punitive, to bring improvement in the nation’s darling sport – soccer.
They cited an instance where a team like Ashgold would have to travel farther from Obuasi to Dormaa to play Berekum Chelsea whose home match at Berekum might have been shifted to Dormaa as a punishment.  Invariably, it is the Obuasi team that would suffer cost and travel risk, instead of Chelsea.

The Sports Crew thus suggested that offensive clubs be made to play in empty stadia to serve as a deterrent to crowd hooliganism.
