Sunyani-based highlife artist, Akwasi Amankwaa Apam popularly known as Dada Thick has lamented how difficult it is to be a musician in the Brong Ahafo Region.

“It is difficult to succeed in Brong Ahafo as musician because we do not have producers, we are doing our best but the support is not coming if you compare it to Kumasi and Accra.

“Over the years, we have seen people who are from this region making it big in Kumasi and Accra after they moved from here,” he told the News Hunter Magazine in an exclusive interview.

Dada Thick added: “If things do not change, I will also move from the region.”

When asked whether the Brong Ahafo music industry has seen any improvement, he answered:

“There has been an improvement in the music industry in B/A. Last year we saw new crop of artist making good music. Things are gradually changing.”

Dada Thick pleaded with people who are well endowed and the government in the region to invest in this sector. According to him, this will bring out the best in them—and also cut down the unemployment rate in the region.

Dada Thick revealed that he will soon come out with a music video.
