A Political Science Lecturer at the
University of Ghana, Dr. Isaac Owusu Mensah has stated some targets set
by some Ghanaian politicians are not realistic as the country gears
toward the 2016 general elections.

Dr. Isaac Owusu Mensah speaking in an interview with Kwabena Obeng
Akrofi on Ark in the morning outlined three ways in which a political
party can use to win elections.

“There are three issues if you
want to win elections:  You have to strengthen your strong holds, Make
sure you get maximum from your strong holds and Make sure you reduce
your opponent’s strong holds,” he divulged.

He further stated that winning elections may not come on a silver platter.

According to him, there are so many works which are needed to be in place to ensure someone’s victory.

Dr.
Isaac Owusu Mensah disclosed that the Ghanaian electorate are becoming
more enlightened—so many of them will vote based on issues and track
records of the various political parties.
