Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Nero X

Ghanaian highlife artist, Nero X has stated that he felt
good when he was nominated in the 2016 edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music
Awards.
The ‘Osey’ singer who was nominated together with Teephlow,
Kofi Kinaata, Donzy, wisa and Atom in the Best New Artiste Of The Year Category
says whoever is nominated can be a winner—and he doesn’t see it as a
competition.

“This award thing seems to be a competition but I don’t see
it like that. Whoever is being nominated in there is a winner and it stands one
has to take it…and whoever take it deserve it,” he told Ike Frimpong on Loud In
GH on Sunyani-based Sky Fm.
According to him, he stands tall to win from that category
looking at how hard he worked in the year under review.
“By God’s grace it has been a good year form. Last year, I
released six (6) songs…I know I worked hard last year and any musician would love
to be a position whereby his/her efforts are being recognized. It was a great
feeling and I thank God it…When your short listing good and hard working
artistes in Ghana, of course I’m part of them.
“Looking at the kind of work that I did, I have a strong
feeling that I can take it. I’m not competing with Kofi Kinaata…It’s all about
voting and anybody who gets more votes will have a great chance of winning,” he
said.
Nero X observed that he is not a gospel musician—and he is
preparing to surprise his fans with songs about life, love and songs about God.
“People should note that I’m not a gospel artiste. I am a Christian,
I know about gospel and God…so I can do gospel with highlife and highlife with gospel.
I’m just doing my thing,” he explained.
