President of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Kwesi
Nyantakyi has called on stakeholders to help improve the Ghanaian women
football.
Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi speaking on Sunyani-based Storm Fm made
a passionate appeal to organizations and stakeholders to invest into women
football in the country to facilitate its development.
He disclosed that the women league in Ghana currently has no
sponsors and therefore the GFA is responsible for the price money involved.
The GFA President was optimistic that the women league in
Ghana will rise to expectation if sponsors come to their aid in the year 2016.

Mr. Nyantakyi further emphasized on how ready they are to develop women
football to attract sponsors.

Speaking on when the men league in the country will begin, Mr.
Kwesi Nyantakyi stated; “until the disciplinary committee and the ethics
committee of the GFA hear a couple of cases pending, a date to start the league
cannot be fixed or determined.”
Nyantakyi appears to have been the most criticized GFA
president, with many saying he is collapsing Ghanaian local league—and his
attention has  solitary been on the
Senior National Team, The Black Stars.
Kwesi Nyantakyi became the president of the Ghana Football Association on 30
December 2005. Nyantakyi defeated two other candidates, Ade Coker and Kojo Bonsu. He is regarded as the most successful Ghana
Football Association boss since its establishment in 1957.
Under his presidency, Ghana qualified for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, the first for the country.
Ghana again qualified for the subsequent 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The Ghana U-20
football team also won Africa’s first and only U-20 World Cup also during his
stewardship in 2009.
